The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) announced it has appointed Barbara Bellissimo to the FSRA board of directors for a three-year term, effective August 12, 2021.
Formerly chief agent and senior vice-president for State Farm Canada before becoming senior vice president at Desjardins, Bellissimo was responsible for the integration of State Farm’s Canadian business into Desjardins back in 2015. Bellissimo has also served as chair for the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) and is a past board member for the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
FSRA chair, Joanne De Laurentiis welcomed the appointment news saying Bellissimo “is a high calibre leader who will bring significant insights to the board as FSRA aims to enhance consumer choice and promote innovation and competition in the auto insurance marketplace.”
