In the October issue of Insurance Journal, which will be available as of Tuesday, October 21, we are publishing a special report on cyber insurance. A summary table on page 27 presents the responses provided by four insurance companies.
These insurers responded to the questionnaire submitted by Insurance Portal regarding coverages related to cyber risk insurance. They are Aviva Canada, Desjardins General Insurance, HSB Canada, and Northbridge Financial Corporation.
The detailed responses are published in the full table, available below as a downloadable Excel file, reserved for our EXECUTIVE-level members. The EXECUTIVE file also includes an additional tab containing information gathered from eight other insurance companies.
In the case of Desjardins, the CyberSuite Plus product has been available to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) since October 3.
At the time of the product’s launch, the insurer noted that in 2023, according to Statistics Canada data, nearly one in six Canadian businesses (16 per cent) reported having been the victim of a cybersecurity incident. Among large businesses, this figure reached 30 per cent.
