Guidewire Software Inc. users are expected to gain access to new institutional knowledge management features, after the company announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ProNav Technologies Ltd., also known as ProNavigator.

A graduate of Guidewire’s Insurtech Vanguards incubator program, ProNavigator says it delivers precise, context-aware best practice information directly within insurance workflows. The incubator program itself was created in 2021. Its inaugural members included Canadian insurtech broker, Zensurance.

ProNavigator was first launched as a chatbot in 2016. The natural language processing-powered knowledge management platform for property and casualty (P&C) insurers being acquired was created later and launched in 2019. Prior to being acquired by Guidewire – the acquisition is expected to close in 2026 – the company says the service is being used by 34 insurance organizations globally.

Insurance-trained intelligence

“Once the acquisition is complete, Guidewire will integrate ProNavigator’s insurance-trained intelligence across its platform, delivering advanced search and contextual knowledge retrieval capabilities for underwriters, claims adjusters, brokers, agents and customer service representatives,” the company stated in an announcement about the acquisition.

“ProNavigator, inside of Guidewire, makes every insurance professional an expert,” adds Guidewire’s CEO, Mike Rosenbaum. Guidewire is currently used by more than 570 insurers in 43 countries.

ProNavigator’s CEO, Joseph D’Souza says by delivering insights in real time, the company is reshaping how insurance professionals access knowledge. “Joining Guidewire enables us to expand our impact,” he says.
