Consumers making use of Roam, a car subscription service currently operating in Toronto, will now be able to access personalized insurance rates as the company has allied with Onlia Insurance, an Ontario digital insurance provider.
The new partnership with Onlia will give Roam subscribers personalized insurance rates based on their driving records, according to the release. Previously, subscribers paid a blanket insurance rate.
"Navigating the complexities of car insurance can be daunting, especially for those unfamiliar with the terms and conditions of insurance policies,” said Apoorv Gupta, founder of Roam. “Onlia simplifies this process by offering bespoke digital insurance that is easy to understand and tailored to the specific needs of Roam subscribers."
Onlia, which touts a digital-first approach that gives people quick online access to insurance, says it is looking forward to this partnership.
"We're also thrilled to work together to empower Ontarians and newcomers to Ontario to pursue their dreams without stressing about spending their savings to have access to a vehicle and spending valuable time in finding the right insurance," said Fleur Dujardin, president of Onlia.
According to its announcement about the new partnership with Onlia, Roam is also planning expansions into Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.
