Franklin Templeton Canada announced today that it has hired and appointed two new business leaders to help expand the firm’s private wealth business and to grow the firms’ institutional business in Canada. Manmeet Bhatia and William (Bill) Tsotsos both joined the company this week, with Bhatia taking over as head of private wealth, while Tsotsos takes over as head of the company’s institutional business.

Under their new mandates, Bhatia will manage and direct the firm’s private wealth strategy in Canada, focusing on the evolving investment and wealth management needs of the company’s discretionary and high net worth clients. Tsotsos will be responsible for collaborating with the firm’s portfolio managers, product specialists and marketing teams. He will also lead the firms’ institutional business strategy, sales, relationship management and consultant relations.

Prior to joining the company, Bhatia held senior positions with Aviso Wealth, Qtrade Financial Group and Assante Wealth. Tsotsos was formerly the head of Canada for BrightSphere Investment Group and managing director at Baring Asset Management.

Both appointees will report directly to the company’s president and CEO, Duane Green. “As the private wealth and institutional spaces evolve, we are deepening our bench with the leadership additions of Manmeet and Bill, to address the multifaceted needs of our clients,” Green said in a statement.
