Benefits plans offering access to online pharmacy services would appear to be a growing trend. Two new entrants to the space are Benefits Alliance and Pocketpills. Benefits Alliance announced the partnership with Pocketpills, to give its member firms access to their own online pharmacy. The firms say they will change the way that prescription medications are obtained and managed.
“Benefits Alliance and Pocketpills will work together to help reduce and control the cost of prescriptions for plan sponsors, ensuring their coverage levels are sustainable,” the firm states in an announcement about the new partnership.
The pair together promise a lot, including to streamline the prescription fulfillment process, improve medication adherence and offer frictionless onboarding. They say more than 30,000 businesses are currently using Pocketpills’ digital pharmacy experience, established by two pharmacists and an engineer in 2018.
Calling themselves the first full-service digital pharmacy in the country, Pocketpills further promises to give plan members access to needed pharmacy services, no matter where they live.
