Canadian financial advisors have a number of options when it comes to offering disability insurance coverage to their clients.

In total, at least seven insurers are active in the Canadian disability insurance market, according to InsuranceINTEL, Canada's life and health insurance product intelligence centre. InsuranceINTEL lists 17 separate products in this market.

There are six insurers in the non-guaranteed disability insurance market:

As for non-cancellable disability insurance, there are three companies. Only two insurers are present in both the non-cancellable and non-guaranteed markets. They are Canada Life and RBC Insurance. 

RBC is the insurer that markets the most disability insurance products, with five different products (non-cancellable and non-guaranteed). Manulife is only active in the non-cancellable disability insurance market.
