Manulife is giving small- and medium-sized group benefit clients free access to human resources support services from HRdownloads.

Manulife has announced that in the second quarter of 2016 it plans to make HR Support Services, a program from HRdownloads, available to all of its Canadian group benefits clients that have between 2 and 399 employees. Manulife is already offering the HR program free of charge to clients in Alberta and British Columbia.

Through the HR Support Services program, employers will be able to obtain information and advice on how to manage the talent in their organizations, develop employees, and remain compliant with industry and government regulations. The insurer says that its eligible group benefits clients will have access to telephone support from human resources advisors, online training, survey solutions, and an online library and resource centre.

“Small business owners told us that they need help dealing with human resources-related issues. In many cases, the owner is busy running the company and simply doesn’t have time to develop the HR expertise that is so important today,” comments Philippe Toupin, vice-president of small business solutions at Manulife. “We understand their need to focus their energy on building their businesses and we want to support them.”
