Women’s digital health platform, sanoLiving has published a new whitepaper advocating for the provision of menopause benefits. It says the provision of such support is a workplace necessity.

“When employers provide access to expert care – not just policies and accommodations – women can manage symptoms and stay productive,” says sanoLiving’s CEO, Angela Johnson.

Based on data from sanoLiving’s users, they say 80 per cent experience an improvement in overall quality of life, 54 per cent experience an improvement in mood and emotional well-being, 50 per cent experience and improvement in the ability to perform at work and 70 per cent experience an improvement in professional and personal relationships after engaging with the platform.

The whitepaper, Menopause Care That Works: Real Data, Real Impact, Real Business Outcomes also looks at the stages of menopause, at clinical tools for assessing the severity of symptoms, and breaks down the challenges: 57 per cent of women report to the platform that menopause symptoms moderately or severely impact their work performance; 16 per cent said the difficulties at work are severe. Quality of life, relationships and mental health are also examined.

“Menopause is an inevitable life stage that affects 100 per cent of women, yet its impact on workforce retention, productivity and well-being has been historically overlooked. With women 40+ as the fastest growing workforce demographic, addressing menopause-related challenges is a business necessity,” they state. “Companies that prioritize workplace equity gain a competitive advantage – becoming 36 per cent more likely to achieve above-average financial returns.”

The whitepaper advertising sanoLiving’s services estimates that 22 per cent of the workforce is currently experiencing menopause. “By 2040, this demographic is projected to grow by nearly a third, making midlife women the fastest-growing segment of female workers,” the paper states. “A menopause-friendly workplace isn’t just a perk – it’s a competitive advantage.”
