The Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) has issued an agreed statement of facts and joint submission between the AIC and general agent, Cindy Sommer.
In it, Sommer agrees to pay $300 for failing to disclose her bankruptcy on subsequent license renewal applications in ensuing years, after declaring it on her August 2015 application after the bankruptcy initially occurred.
“The agent did disclose her prior bankruptcy in her application of August 21, 2015, and failed to disclose her bankruptcy on her subsequent renewal applications,” the AIC writes. Licensed since February 2003, Sommer apologized to the investigators, saying she was misinformed and followed incorrect advice about filling out her applications.
