SSQ Insurance announced this week that group insurance plan members served by the company are now able to access services through the company’s digital customer centre and mobile app interfaces.

The customer centre, already online for general home and auto insurance, will now include group insurance access, giving clients the ability to check coverage eligibility, manage online claims, set up direct deposit and self-manage their own personal information.

“By integrating group insurance services into its customer centre, SSQ Insurance is pursuing its mission of being a customer-centric company,” says Annie Lafond, vice president of marketing and e-business at SSQ.

In addition to access for group plan members, the company also added facial recognition and fingerprint recognition to its mobile app. The company says all of the changes are part of a larger effort to position itself as a leader in digital services among Canadian insurance companies.
