The Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR) announced that the CCIR has appointed its new executive committee members, appointing a new chair and three vice chairs from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec, respectively.

Huston Loke, executive vice president of market conduct with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) will take over from outgoing chair, Robert Bradley. Loke oversees market and business conduct including licensing and conduct regulation for both life and health and property and casualty insurers and distributors in the province. He formerly worked with the Ontario Securities Commission and has held senior roles with ratings agency DBRS and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

Alongside Loke’s appointment, the council announced the appointment of three vice chairs as well, including Janette Seibel, lawyer with the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority, Saskatchewan, J. Scott Moore, superintendent of insurance with the Financial Institutions Regulation Branch of Manitoba and Nathalie Sirois, directrice principale de la surveillance prudentielle at Autorité des marchés financiers in Quebec.

The CCIR is a national organization that includes all provincial and territorial regulators, along with the Federal Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
