The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) announced that it has produced a series of free webinars for small and medium-sized enterprises, designed to help businesses avoid common deficiencies and understand their regulatory obligations.

The OSC in its announcement continues, saying the webinars are also an opportunity to ask questions of the regulator’s staff.

In an effort the help businesses understand and navigate the requirements of being or becoming a public company in Ontario, the webinar topics will include discussions about disclosure requirements – both of financial measures and of overly promotional material – forward-looking information and reporting, common management discussion and analysis and prospectus deficiencies and a refresher on prospectus exemptions, including new, temporary exemptions.

Archived webinars will also be available following the announced webinar dates. Registration information is available at the OSC’s website.
