Following an extensive search to replace retiring president and CEO, John Crawford, Pacific Blue Cross announced Nov. 24 that it has named Sarah Hoffman, CEO of Healthcare Benefit Trust as Pacific Blue Cross’ new president and CEO, effective January 3, 2023.
Hoffman has worked for Healthcare Benefit Trust, serving as CEO for nearly five years, following a seven-and-a-half-year stint as the organization’s chief financial officer.
The search process for Crawford’s replacement began in the fall of 2021, receiving local, national and international interest. Hoffman reportedly has deep knowledge about Pacific Blue Cross, gained through her previous role as head of one of the company’s largest clients.
Pacific Blue Cross is currently enjoying its highest membership numbers in the history of the organization, reportedly serving one in three British Columbians. Hoffman has been charged with the task of fostering the firm’s continued leadership in group, government and individual health plans.
