With very little fanfare or notice, the IFSE Institute announced that it is winding down operations and will no longer be offering the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) course required to become a licensed life or accident and sickness insurance agent in Ontario.
Those wishing to retrieve past transcripts, certificates or tax slips need to do so before June 30, 2025.
“Current IFSE learners who do not complete their LLQP course on or before June 15, 2025 will automatically be transferred to SeeWhy Learning, a Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) approved LLQP course provider,” FSRA states in an announcement about the institute’s closure.
“To ensure smooth transition for our students, IFSE has agreements in place with education providers so students can continue to have access to courses for securities registration and insurance licensing purposes,” the institute adds. The announcement notes Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) equivalent courses – students may transfer to these courses in July 2025 only, for an applicable fee ranging between $0 and $80. The last day to schedule a proctored exam is June 16, 2025 and the last day to write an exam is June 30, 2025.
As for LLQP courses, all modular exams must be completed before June 15, 2025. Access to SeeWhy Learning’s platform opens June 19.
