Ten banks are working together to help the Canadian Red Cross provide emergency relief and support for communities impacted by flooding in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick, announced the Canadian Bankers Association April 30.
Support includes opening branch locations and online networks for donations from Canadians. Banks are also making corporate contributions and some banks are arranging special payment options for people impacted by the floods.
Accepting customer donations
The following banks are accepting customer donations through their branch and online networks from Tuesday, April 30th to Tuesday, May 14th: BMO, Canadian Western Bank, CIBC, HSBC Bank Canada, Laurentian Bank, National Bank, RBC, Scotiabank, Tangerine Bank (donations can be made online directly from client accounts starting May 1 to15) and TD Bank Group.
