Following a $13.5 million financing round that closed in January 2021 and a string of hirings in 2020, Apollo Insurance Solutions has appointed two executives. Bryan Kinney is the new Vice President of Product Development, and Edwina McKennon has joined the firm as a Broker Engagement Manager.
New Product Development
Kinney will lead the product team and will contribute to new product development in that team, led by chief underwriting officer Marco Andolfatto. The VP will work with partners to create, test, and deploy comprehensive digital insurance products.
“Bryan has a wealth of insurance knowledge,” Andolfatto says. “His experience and skills will play a key role as we continue to rapidly roll out new products in 2021.”
Bryan Kinney brings nearly 20 years of experience in the Canadian insurance industry. His previous position was Team Lead and Senior Casualty Specialist at Sovereign Insurance. The insurer intends to leverage his extensive expertise to optimize data-driven products.
Edwina McKennon is another seasoned industry player. After stints at Allstate and Desjardins General Insurance Group, McKennon worked as a broker at BrokerLink and Gallagher before moving to Apollo.
In this role, McKennon joins the Apollo Broker Distribution team, led by Head of Broker Distribution Margo Lyons. She will strive to engage with brokers and provide support to the Broker Distribution team. McKennon will work alongside Broker Success Manager Julie Thierman and Broker Engagement Manager Madison Cheffins in continuing to provide service to the 2,000 brokers who partner with Apollo.
