Chris Reynolds, a co-founder of Investment Planning Counsel (IPC), has moved into the new position of executive Chair, while Blaine Shewchuk becomes president and chief executive officer, as IPC – which is part of the IGM Group of companies – contemplates new business opportunities.

In a statement, IGM said Reynolds has played a central role in building IPC into a network of 700 advisors, managing more than $30 billion in investments for over 200,000 Canadians. As executive Chair, he will focus on advisor retention and growth, corporate strategy development and identify new business opportunities. Reynolds will continue to report to IGM president and CEO James O'Sullivan

Reynolds to focus on attracting new advisors 

"Under Chris' leadership, IPC has grown into one of Canada's premier independent wealth managers," said O'Sullivan. "His focus on attracting and retaining top talent, always putting the client first and integrating new technologies into the advisory experience have positioned the firm well for ongoing growth.” 

As president and CEO of IPC, Shewchuk will work with Reynolds to create and deliver on new business strategies with a focus on building a leading edge platform for advisors and clients.

The new positions are effective July 1.
