In presenting an update at the Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (CAILBA) annual meeting this week in Toronto, Chris Murumets, LOGiQ3 co-founder and interim CEO of APEXA, announced the company has appointed Tonya Blackmore to be the company's new CEO, effective Monday, June 1.

Tonya BlackmoreAPEXA Corp., a subsidiary of insurance industry consulting and outsourcing provider LOGiQ3, is expected to provide a central, company-integrated, industry database and related services, all designed to help in the screening, contracting, and compliance processes which take place when insurance advisors contract with carriers and Managing General Agencies (MGAs).

Blackmore's responsibilities as head of the new entity will include setting long term strategies for the company beyond initial implementation. Roll-out of APEXA's initial capabilities is expected to launch January, 2016.

Murumets says the company is excited to have Blackmore taking on the new role: "She is very focused, skilled at execution, has a lot of experience in the life insurance industry, and she's a strong supporter of collaboration," he says. "We're very excited to have Tonya join our team."

The LOGiQ3 co-founder will continue to be involved in the subsidiary's activities, focusing on partner relationships, contractual developments, regulatory changes and updates.
