HUB International Canada West ULC has acquired Groupe financier Botica. The Montreal-based firm is licensed in group life and health insurance.
According to records filed with the Quebec Enterprise Register, the new administration has been in place since July 1, 2026. No mention of the transaction appears on the website of the acquired firm, which was founded in 2002.
The Insurance Portal learned of the impending transaction in late spring 2026. Our efforts to obtain comments from HUB International Quebec were unsuccessful.
The firm's management then stated that it no longer announces the company's acquisitions. It also asked the Insurance Portal not to report on the transaction. The company nevertheless announced an acquisition in 2025 and others that took place the previous year.
At Botica, former owner Serge Assayag did not respond to our interview request. Licensed in life and health insurance and group life and health insurance, he still appears in the register of the Autorité des marchés financiers as the firm's officer and designated responsible person.
