FP Canada has unveiled the list of individuals who received top scores in the October 2022 sitting of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam. Offered in both French and English three times each year, the top challengers are added to FP Canada’s President’s List to honour their achievement.

In October 2022, the top three scorers included Brian McCrae of Designated Securities Ltd. in Peterborough, Ontario who came in first place. Ikhlas Roselli of TD Bank Financial Group in Ottawa came in second place and Chantelle Clarke of CIBC, also in Peterborough, Ontario, came in third place.

To obtain CFP certification, candidates must complete core curriculum programs, advanced curriculum, an ethics course, a further professional education program, pass the CFP exam and complete at least three years of qualifying work experience.

The six-hour CFP exam includes both stand-alone, multiple-choice questions and case-based constructed response questions, as well. FP Canada says the questions focus on elements of the FP Canada Standards Council Competency Profile which addresses both professional skills such as critical thinking and interpersonal skills, and fundamental financial planning elements of competency.
