ETFGI, an independent research and consultancy firm, today reported that assets invested in Exchange Traded Funds and Exchange Traded Fund Products listed in Canada increased 28.2 per cent in the first 9 months of this year to reach a new record of US$108 Bn (C$135 Bn) at the end of September 2017.

ETFGI’s September 2017 preliminary Canadian ETF and ETP industry insights report also says that the Canadian ETF industry has 535 ETFs, with 659 listings, from 25 providers listed on two exchanges.

Net inflows for August

ETFs and ETPs listed in Canada gathered US$13 Mn ($C16.22 Mn) in net outflows in August and US$13.87 Bn ($C17.30 Bn) in year to date net inflows.

BMO Global Asset Management gathered the largest net ETF/ETP inflows YTD with US$5.82 Bn (C$7.26 Bn), followed by Vanguard with US$1.92 Bn ($C2.4 Bn)  and iShares with US$1.32 Bn (C$1.65 Bn) and Mirae Asset ETFs with US$1.31 Bn (C$1.63 Bn) net inflows.
