Equitable Life of Canada announced on Sept. 14 that Donna Carbell will join Equitable Life in the role of Senior Vice President, Individual Insurance. In addition, Tara Proper will transition from her role as Vice President Capital Markets to Senior Vice President, Investments, effective immediately.    

Karen Mason, SVP Individual and Paul English, SVP Investments, have both announced their intention of retiring at the end of the year. 

In her new role, Donna Carbell will oversee product development, distribution, marketing, and client service for the individual insurance line of business. Previously, during her tenure at Manulife, Carbell held the role of Head of Group Benefits, Customer Experience and had senior roles in Investments and Securities, Insurance, and Retirement. 

In her new role, Tara Proper will be responsible for leading the Equitable Asset Management Group, which manages the company’s overall investment portfolio and segregated funds. During her 24-year career at Equitable Life, Proper has served as Vice President Capital Markets, and other roles within the Asset Management Group.
