Empire Life Investments, a subsidiary of the Empire Life Insurance Company, announced this week that it has promoted two of its investment team members to more senior portfolio manager positions.
Senior investment analyst, Greg Chan, has now been promoted to portfolio manager of Canadian equities. Chan joined Empire Life in 2018. In his investment analyst role, Chan provided research and analysis on the company’s Canadian equity portfolios. Going forward he will co-manage the Empire Life Asset Allocation GIF, the Empire Life Canadian Equity GIF, the Empire Life Dividend Growth GIF, Empire Life Elite Equity GIF and the Empire Life Monthly Income GIF. Prior to his work with Empire Life, Chan worked as an investment analyst with CI Investments.
Albert Ngo, meanwhile, formerly the portfolio manager of fixed income, is promoted to senior portfolio manager of fixed income. Ngo will now serve as the company’s lead manager on the Empire Life Strategic Corporate Bond GIF, the Empire Life Short Term High Income GIF and will serve as the co-manager of the Empire Life Global Asset Allocation GIF. Prior to joining Empire Life, Ngo was a vice president and portfolio manager with Invesco Canada.
The company says both appointments were made to recognize Chan and Ngo’s contributions and success at preserving and building wealth for the company’s clients.
