On Sept. 28 Chubb announced that it named Jeffrey Updyke Vice-President, Chubb Group and Division President, Chubb Small Business.
Updyke will have executive operating responsibility for Chubb’s retail insurance business that serves small commercial clients in the United States and Canada. “He will oversee all facets of the business including strategy, product and business development, underwriting and service operations, and profit and loss performance,” Chubb says.
Previous to this appointment, Updyke, who joined Chubb in 1991, held the position of Chief Operating Officer of North America Field Operations.
A new leader for North America
In his new role, Jeffrey Updyke reports to John Lupica, newly appointed president of North America Insurance, Chubb’s largest division. Lupica was appointed on Aug. 10 and assumed his position Sept. 1, 2020.
Lupica now leads all of Chubb’s general insurance business in the United States, Canada and Bermuda, including commercial P&C, personal lines, agriculture and health business. He replaced Paul Krump, who was named Vice Chairman, Global Underwriting and Claims on Sept. 1.
Prior to the promotion, Lupica – who has retained his title of Vice-Chairman, Chubb Group – served as President, North America Major Accounts and Specialty Insurance.
New Chief of Field Operations
Replacing Updyke in the position of Chief Operating Officer of North America Field Operations is Robert Poliseno.
Poliseno’s responsibilities will include overseeing delivery of Chubb’s full portfolio of personal and commercial insurance products and services to agent and broker distribution partners through 48 branch offices in North America, Chubb announced Sept. 28.
Poliseno has worked at Chubb since 2008. Before his promotion, he was Regional Executive Officer for Chubb's Mid-Atlantic region, including the states of Delaware and Maryland, and Washington DC, since 2013. In his new duties, Poliseno will report to Chris Maleno, Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, North America Field Operations.
