Current CEO of Manulife Québec, Richard Payette, decided to leave the company at year-end, the insurer confirmed to The Insurance Portal.

“Québec remains an integral part of our Canadian business strategy. I am convinced that Alexis will continue the excellent work that Richard began,” Manulife Canada President and CEO Mike Doughty told The Insurance Portal.

Payette joined Manulife in 2016 as the successor to Charles Guay.

An actuary by training, Gerbeau joined Manulife four years ago when the insurer acquired the Canadian operations of Standard Life, where he built the first 15 years of his career.
