The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) announced January 5 that it has named a new president and CEO following an extensive national search.
Andrew Mitchell takes the helm of the organization on January 16, 2023. At that time, he will also become president and board chair of the IFSE Institute, IFIC’s wholly owned education entity.
Mitchell is succeeding president and CEO, Paul Bourque who announced his retirement in June 2022. Mitchell joins IFIC from SEI Investments Company Canada, where he was managing director, head of asset management distribution. Prior to that, he was president at Worldsource Wealth Management for more than seven years, president of Performa, a Standard Life Canada company, and vice president with Standard Life Investment Funds before that. Mitchell has also worked in senior roles with Guardian Group of Funds and Bank of America Canada.
In a statement announcing the appointment, Mitchell says he is excited about working with the IFIC team, its board of directors and many industry volunteers.
