Standard Life Mutual Funds is lowering the risk ratings on seven of its funds. The change was announced on October 30, and will be reflected in the funds' simplified prospectus documents, which were filed on the same day.
The changes are being made in order to remain in accordance with the risk rating guidelines established by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC). The IFIC guidelines are based primarily upon the variability of returns for a mutual fund, and Standard Life Mutual Funds points out that no material changes have been made to the investment objectives, strategies or management of these funds.
