Smart Employee Benefits, a company that offers a technology platform for managing group benefits solutions and healthcare claims processing, has announced a joint venture partnership with SAFG Benefits Solutions.

SEB says it has a significant presence in the Canadian large company market. The main goal of the partnership will be “to build a similar market penetration in the small to medium sized group benefits market (3 to 500 lives),” said the companies in an announcement.

SEB’s platform has been modified to accommodate groups down to three lives and provide products and services, which were previously only available to large groups.

The partnership will focus on marketing the benefits of this platform to the small to medium firms, say the companies. SEB will provide the platform and administration and SAFG will be the marketing arm.
