RBC Insurance clients now have access to support services from Medical Confidence.

The insurer announced its new partnership with Medical Confidence on Friday. Individual disability and critical illness policyholders as well as group short- and long-term disability clients will now have access to Medical Confidence’s healthcare navigation services.

The program includes one-on-one support from a registered nurse and guidance in finding appropriate specialists. Medical Confidence will also help clients through the referral process, scheduling and preparing them for appointments.

"The majority of Canadians do not know what to do or where to turn when faced with a serious medical condition. The ever increasing wait times have become the norm, making it challenging even for primary care practitioners to find an available specialist," says Angela Johnson, president of Medical Confidence. "Through an innovative navigation platform we provide RBC clients a customized and caring approach to obtaining the right treatment at the right time. The result is reduced wait times and improved outcomes for patients."

Medical Confidence has a network of more than 6,000 physicians who deal with a range of conditions including cancer, diabetes, arthritis, surgeries, coronary disease, and orthopedics.
