League, a digital alternative to traditional health insurance, has announced that it will provide fully insured products for Canadian businesses, including life, accidental death and dismemberment, and disability coverage, which will be supported by RBC Insurance.

RBC Insurance will be League’s first partner and will underwrite League’s products, which are available through League Insurance Agency Inc., a licensed subsidiary of League.

Creating a digital experience

Michael Serbinis, CEO and founder of League, says health benefits now have access to a modern digital approach.

“It’s about time a 100 per cent digital experience came to the health benefits market. League’s platform connects healthcare providers, employers, and consumers to provide a comprehensive digital health benefits experience,” he says.

Businesses looking for flexibility

League users can access their benefits through their app, which provides access to health professionals, secure messaging, real-time booking and digital payment without the need for paper forms. John Carinci, head, group & business markets of RBC Insurance, says RBC understands businesses are looking for flexibility in how they manage their benefits.

“We recognize businesses are looking for more flexibility which is why we worked with League to create a tailored group benefits package specifically designed for their portfolio - RBC Insurance is dedicated to developing innovative insurance offerings,” says Carinci.

Unused funds are returned to the employer

League promises that unlike traditional health plans where employers pay regardless of what their employees use; that unused funds are returned to the employers so they are only paying for the health service their teams uses.
