Great-West Life is bringing together its group insurance, Selectpac and group retirement teams into a single organization, announced Great-West Life’s Rob DeMott, Senior Vice-President, Business Development in a message to group advisors and group benefits consultants May 8.

“A key part of this is ensuring our field office structure preserves the firsthand knowledge of local markets that is so important to you and customers, and supports the specialized product and service expertise of our teams. At the same time, it encourages a broad and consistent view of our customers, allows us to learn to work more effectively and efficiently together and identify new market opportunities,” stated DeMott.

There will be a new regional structure that includes nine regions.

Nine regions across Canada

In Western Canada, the B.C. region will be headed by Francesco Di Scianni, the Alberta region by Dave Crombeen and a Mid-West region by David Devine.

Chad Shea will head the Toronto region and surrounding area.

Christine van Staden leads the Toronto (Consultant) office and Robert McMaster heads the Southern Ontario region, while Ernie Laporte is leader of the Ottawa region. Michael Henderson is the Quebec region leader and Robert Gillis leads the Atlantic Canada region. Craig Christie leads Institutional Investments Solutions.

DeMott says, “The structure allows us to continue developing and building on the tremendous business relationships we share with you, while meeting evolving customer needs and preferences.”

On May 8, Great-West Life also announced further restructuring to its individual distribution network.
