Equitable Life of  Canada announced that it will honour the retirement of its President and CEO, Ron Beettam by creating an endowment at Wilfrid Laurier University for students in the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics . 

The endowment, named The Ron Beettam Equitable Life Award, is an investment of $30,000 which will see a $1,000 award given annually in perpetuity. One recipient will be selected by the University each year starting this September.

This award will be eligible to an undergraduate student in the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at Laurier who meets all academic program requirements, demonstrates involvement in the community through volunteer work, and establishes financial need.

"This gift recognizes our ongoing commitment to producing the next generation of business leaders who understand the power of ethical business to make a positive impact."
