Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG) has released its 2019 Public Accountability Statement, noting its commitment to communities, the Canadian Red Cross and other causes.

In 2019:

• Desjardins Group promised $86.9 million to charitable donations, sponsorships, philanthropic partnerships and scholarships, of which $3.54 million was contributed directly by DGIG.

• Desjardins contributed $112,000 to the Red Cross in 2019 to help communities recovering from accidents or natural disasters.

• The company contributed $198,500 to the Desjardins Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to encouraging youth to succeed academically and in other ways, as well as gave a total of $53,000 to more than 90 members and clients through its disaster relief fund.

In addition, more than 1,290 Desjardins employees volunteered a total of 26,667 hours of their time and raised more than $113,785 for a wide-variety of charitable organizations across Canada.
