Cowan Insurance Group and The Cowan Foundation announced Sept. 12 that they have raised $125,000 for Habitat for Humanity’s Every Youth initiative through the 2017 Cowan Charity Classic golf tournaments.

“The Cowan Charity Classic brings people together not just for the experience of this wonderful event, but to demonstrate a like-minded and ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities in which we live and work,” said Heather McLachlin, President, Cowan Insurance Group. “With the funds raised, we are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Canada to launch their Every Youth Initiative, and continue to inspire and help youth in communities across Canada thrive.”

Helping at-risk youth

Habitat for Humanity’s Every Youth initiative aims to help at-risk youth build a sense of community through the Habitat for Humanity experience.

“Thank you to Cowan Insurance Group, the founding partner of Habitat Canada’s new Every Youth Initiative, which aims to empower all youth, including at-risk groups, to build a strong foundation for a successful future,” says Mark Rodgers, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada.
