CI Financial Corp. announced April 12 that is has appointed a new executive vice president and chief financial officer to replace outgoing CFO, Douglas Jamieson.
According to the announcement, Amit Muni will join CI from WisdomTree Investments Inc. by the end of May 2021. The executive vice president and CFO will report to the company’s CEO, Kurt MacAlpine, and will oversee CI’s global finance operations and investor relations teams.
With WisdomTree where he served as the company’s CFO since 2008, the certified public accountant also served as chief accounting officer for International Securities Exchange Holdings, where he led that company’s successful public offering in 2005. Before that, Muni worked at PwC LLP where he performed audit and business advisory services for multinational and mid-sized broker-dealers.
“CI is undertaking a dramatic transformation of its business, including creating a fast-growing North American wealth management platform, and I’m very excited to be part of it,” Muni said in a statement.
Muni takes over for Jamieson, who agreed to remain at the company until his responsibilities are transferred. Jamieson joined the firm in 1995. He announced his intention to leave the firm back in November 2020 to pursue other opportunities.
