BlackRock Asset Management Canada plans to terminate six of its iShares exchange traded funds (ETFs) in September.

On June 18, Blackrock announced plans to terminate the following ETFs on or about September 4:

  •
  • iShares Broad Commodity Index ETF (CAD-Hedged)
  • iShares Oil Sands Index ETF
  • iShares China All-Cap Index ETF
  • iShares S&P/TSX Global Mining Index ETF
  • iShares Latin America Index ETF
  • iShares S&P/TSX Venture Index ETF

BlackRock says it expects that units of the terminating funds will stop trading on and be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange around August 27. As soon as possible after this date, the assets of each terminating ETF will be liquidated and the proceeds will be distributed to unitholders after all of the fund's liabilities and obligations have been paid.

Blackrock says it made the decision to wind up the funds "based on an ongoing process to review its product lineup and ensure it meets the evolving needs of its clients."
