Arthur J. Gallagher, an llinois-based global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm, announced on Dec. 17 the acquisition of Sinclair Billard and Weld Limited, and CJM Solutions + Inc., dba SBW Employee Benefits.
Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, SBW Employee Benefits provides group insurance programs and defined contribution group retirement for business and associations in the Maritimes.

Founding partner Rob Weld, partner Jamie Spence and benefits consultant Lorie Collins, as well as their associates, will continue to operate from their office in Halifax under the direction of Melanie Jeannotte, president of Gallagher's Canadian employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
