U.S.-based brokerage, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has acquired Accompass Inc. of Toronto.

Accompass provides health and welfare, investment and retirement, executive compensation, and compensation consulting and support services to clients throughout Canada. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The firm’s leaders Sarah Beech and Mark Dowdell and their associates will continue to operate from their current location under the direction of Leslie Lemenager, head of Gallagher's international employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.

"Accompass's client-focused approach and their recognition in the market as a great place to work closely align with our own core values," said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., Chairman, President and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. "In addition, their strong presence with both Toronto-based and national organizations further expands our footprint across Canada."

This is the fourth acquisition in Canada for Gallagher during 2018. Palmer Atlantic Insurance of New Brunswick, Belton Boisselle of Manitoba and Leystone Insurance & Financial of Ontario were also acquired this year. Globally, Gallagher carried out more than 40 acquisitions this year.
