Following an announcement made by Marsh Canada, Zurich Canada’s collaboration with the United Way of Greater Toronto, the Centre for Young Black Professionals and the Zurich Foundation, will soon begin a transition that will see the program expanded further and managed by the United Way.
Also known as the Zurich Insurance Pathways Program, or ZIPP, the program is designed to provide underrepresented youth with the opportunity to build their insurance knowledge, network, skills and confidence. It does so by introducing participants to various insurance career paths through a 10-week, in-class curriculum and a 12-week, paid internship with Zurich Canada and Marsh Canada, the program’s first funding partner.
“This year ZIPP will begin to transition from a Zurich Canada exclusive program to an industry-led program managed by the United Way of Greater Toronto by 2025. Expansion and transition of the program will occur gradually over the next three years,” Marsh Canada states in its announcement. “The partnership sets participants up for success through resume building, up-skilling and hands-on experience to help launch their insurance careers.”
The program is specifically aimed at underrepresented women and those who identify as Black. The company’s experiential learning opportunities include career fairs, job shadow days and executive mentoring.
