Group insurance consolidator and broker People Corporation has named Eric Nauss Vice president, Group Solutions, Quebec. Nauss took office on May 25, 2021.
He will lead the operations of People Corporation’s Quebec channel, reporting to Chad Hollington, Senior Vice President and Group Head, Eastern Canada, Group Solutions.
“Eric will help us build on the growth strategy in the region,” Jennifer Gregory says in an announcement she shared exclusively with Insurance Portal. She adds that Eric will ensure that growth, profit and retention is maximized in the region.
Expanded role
Asked about the new role by Insurance Portal, Gregory confirmed via email that the role has been expanded. Jacques Latour had led People Corporation's Quebec operations as Senior Vice President, Quebec, from May 2018 to December 2019. His position had not been filled since.
Nauss will work with People Corporation's direct channel, working with plan sponsors, Gregory adds. People Corporation also operates a student benefits business in the Eastern Canada region. However, this business “is separate from Eric's role,” she points out.
Integrating acquired firms
People Corporation officially gained a foothold in Quebec in 2019, with the opening of an office in Laval. In 2017, it acquired Assurances Dalbec. It purchased Robin Veilleux Assurances et Rentes Collectives in 2020.
Nauss' leadership and oversight of the team will be important in integrating the operations and organic growth of various practices in the region, Gregory adds. “Eric will build strategy in the expansion of operations and assist in the continued work with mergers and acquisitions in the province.”
Nauss previously worked as an actuary with Mercer Canada, where he led the firm's health business. He was in charge of client consulting in Montreal, Quebec City and Ottawa. Gregory also highlights Nauss' experience in market and product development, along with consulting and analytics.
