Actuarial modeling and financial reporting firm, Valani Global announced November 2 that it has acquired Canadian analytical research firm MSA Research.
Founded in 2003, MSA Research focuses on Canada’s insurance market, providing data and hosting a number of familiar conferences throughout the year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
MSA, they say, “serves as the primary source of financial data for 95 per cent of the Canadian insurance sector, through its MSA Researcher platform.” MSA’s clients include a majority of Canada’s property and casualty (P&C) companies, life companies, reinsurers, regulatory bodies and government agencies, ratings agencies and equity analysts, suppliers and industry associations.
“Valani Global sees the addition of MSA as a significant boost in offering comprehensive actuarial solutions to clients, further integrating its services with those of the recently acquired Joe S. Cheng and Partners (JSCP),” they write. “We continue to focus on providing advanced analytical solutions and opportunities for industry collaboration, all supported by stringent risk and scope management.”
Its CEO, Nazir Valani says both deals now make Valani Global a one-stop shop for actuarial services.
Valani Global currently employs 29 actuaries and eight associates across Canada and the U.S. Its own clients come from various sectors.
