The Edge Benefits has warned consumers about the Saskatchewan Government’s budget proposal to expand the PST to additional insurance products in the province. The proposal is set to come into effect July 1, 2017.

In a news release issued May 9, The Edge Benefits, a living benefits solutions provider, stated, “This tax will cost most individuals and families hundreds of dollars each year, and may cause consumers to forgo this important protection, risking the long-term well-being of themselves and their families in times of financial hardship.”

The Edge Benefits encourages Canadians to voice their objection to the proposal. The Independent Financial Brokers of Canada (IFB) is also encouraging its members to object to the proposal.
