Sun Life Financial has announced that it will automatically enroll eligible clients in its program for affluent investors.

Beginning Feb. 5, 2016, clients who have investments with a market value of at least $100,000 in Sun Life's series A, F, T5, T8, AT5, AT8 and AH mutual funds (purchased via front end sales charge option) will automatically signed up for the company’s Private Client program. Once enrolled, investors will receive lower management fees and also may be eligible for other services, such as specialized statements and account linking.

As a result of the change, Sun Life is no longer offering its series E and series EF securities; clients who currently hold these series will have them re-designated (or converted in the case of corporate class shares) as series A and series F respectively.

“Our advisors have told us they are looking for solutions that help them reduce administration in their business while ensuring they are providing their clients with the best investment options and services,” comments Rick Headrick, president of Sun Life Global Investments. “Advisor feedback continues to be instrumental in the evolution of our business, leading to innovative features like auto-enrolment.”
