Mary Forrest, President and CEO of Munich Re, has announced the company will be making changes to the North American executive team effective May 1.

Bernard Naumann has been appointed President and CEO of Munich Re, Canada (Life). He is responsible for developing and executing the Canadian reinsurance strategy for Canada and the Caribbean. Previously, Naumann was appointed Senior Vice President, individual reinsurance in 2007, and then became Senior Vice President, reinsurance, in 2016.
Richard Letarte has been appointed President and CEO of Munich Re’s New Ventures, a division of North America (Life and Health). His mandate will include developing new products and services, and investments in new technologies. In 2016, Letarte was appointed Senior Vice President, innovation, for the Canadian Life business.
Additionally, Lloyd Milani was appointed Chief Risk Officer of North America (Life and Health). He will continue to be responsible for enterprise risk management of Munich RE’s Life business in Canada and the United States, and will now also be responsible for the North American Health insurance and reinsurance business.
