The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) announced March 14 that it is inviting its members to nominate candidates for election to the MFDA’s four Regional Councils. Nominations must be submitted by April 20, 2018 at the latest.

Eligible nominees must be a resident of the applicable region and a partner, officer, director, employee or agent of an MFDA member in that region. Ten positions are available on the Atlantic Regional Council, and 20 positions each are available on the Central, Prairie and Pacific Regional Councils.

Two-year terms

Elected representatives serve two-year terms of office and are eligible to be selected as members of three-person Hearing Panels that adjudicate MFDA disciplinary proceedings.

An MFDA Member may nominate up to two candidates in each region in which the Member has a head office or at least one branch office.

The two-year terms of office for successful candidates will begin on June 7, 2018. To learn more about submitting a nomination, consult this bulletin on the MFDA’s website.
