MFDA appoints new chairman and vice-chairman

The Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) has announced that Steven Donald will be the new chair of its board of directors, while Christopher Nicholls will serve as vice-chair. The regulator announced the appointments on Dec. 7.

Steven Donald is the president of both Assante Wealth Management Canada and CI Private Counsel. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.

Christopher Nicholls is a professor of business law at University of Western Ontario where he holds the W. Geoff Beattie Chair in corporate law. He is also head of research and policy at the Rotman School of Management's Capital Markets Institute at the University of Toronto. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, Osgoode Hall Law School, and Harvard University.
