Manulife Financial plans to introduce a new electronic insurance application this summer. In an announcement posted to its Repsource web site for advisors last week, the insurer says that the new program is an improvement over its current ez-app and offers a number of new features. Among other things, advisors will have a choice of both a short and full online application (a separate tele-interview will not be required for the full version) and they will be able to both save and share applications that are in progress. The new e-application will also allow for electronic signatures so clients can sign online, in person, or via email.

Online training sessions

Initially, the new e-application will only be available for family and business term coverage, and for Lifecheque critical illness applications. Manulife Quick Issue Term applications will continue to be available through the e-application tool.

Over the coming weeks, Manulife will be sending out email invitations to advisors for in-person and online training sessions.
