iA Financial Group announced Sept. 12 the launch of the second edition of its philanthropic contest. From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, charities that work with people living with mental health issues will be invited to answer the question "What more could you do with a donation of $125,000?"

In an announcement, the company said that close to $300,000 will be donated to the ten organizations with the most inspiring submissions.

The first edition of the contest was organized as part of iA Financial Group's 125th anniversary last year. Due to the positive response, the company says it decided to make it an annual contest. Each year the contest will have a particular theme with this year’s theme being mental health.

"The large number of charities who submitted projects last year really touched us. We are very happy to have our philanthropic contest once again this year and in the years to come. We want to introduce and promote Canadian charities that are committed to the quality of life of Canadians, like us," states Denis Ricard, President and Chief Executive Officer of iA Financial Group.

Public will be invited to vote

At the end of the submission period, iA will select ten submissions, which will be presented to the public on Nov. 1. The public will be invited to vote for the two most inspiring submissions. A donation of $125,000 will be made to the charity that received the most votes, a donation of $50,000 will be made to the charities that rank second and third, and a donation of $10,000 will be made to the remaining seven finalists. Contest results will be announced on Dec.11.
