Henderson Insurance, a broker partner with the Navacord group of companies, announced Nov. 4 that it has acquired HAL Insurance, formerly known as Highway Agencies Ltd.
Navacord says Saskatchewan has been identified as a key area of growth for the company. Henderson, Navacord’s “premier broker” is a mid-market commercial insurance and risk management firm. It says the acquisition of HAL, a firm founded by the Saskatchewan Trucking Association, will strengthen Henderson’s position in the transportation sector.
In addition to serving the transportation sector, HAL also offers commercial and personal products, farm products, sports and events insurance. HAL Insurance, meanwhile, says that the Henderson acquisition gives the firm new scalability, increased access to markets and entry into new sectors. (With offices in Moose Jaw and Regina, Henderson serves clients in central and western Canada who operate in the agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, construction, surety bonding and automobile, RV and equipment dealership industry sectors.)
HAL Insurance will transition to operating under the Henderson Insurance brand in the coming months. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
